In a Quote: "World’s Greatest Auto Show" is a comprehensive history of the annual Chicago Auto Show extravaganza. Never before covered in book form, this chronicle offers everything you’ve ever wanted to know about the Chicago Auto Show, from the first official show in 1901, up to the present.

"World’s Greatest Auto Show," co-authored by professional writer and editor James Flammang and author Mitchel Frumkin, was written with full cooperation of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association CATA). This 304-page book includes more than 1,000 photos from the CATA’s own collection, and outside sources. The book looks back to the beginning of the Chicago Auto Show in 1901, at its development through the years, and the vital role it’s played in the American auto industry. Although the "official" auto show took place in 1901, the authors discovered evidence that a show took place in 1900, as well as other small-scale events as early as 1898.

In creating this unique archival collection and story of the "world’s greatest auto show," noted automotive journalist and historian James Flammang teamed up with automotive historian/artist and researcher Mitchel Frumkin. More than just a history book, "World’s Greatest Auto Show" covers celebrities, entertainers and business leaders and their connection with this rich event. Lavishly staged, the Chicago Auto Show has taken different forms since the sixties, moving from the Coliseum to the International Amphitheatre, the "old" McCormick Place, and now, where it’s held on one floor, the "new" McCormick Place. Anyone who’s ever attended this great spectacle will appreciate all that the "World’s Greatest Auto Show" contains.
