Just Announced here in Indy: Sarah Fisher, once a participant herself, has been asked to drive this year’s pace car at IMS. When Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles inquired if Sarah was ready to drive the pace car for the 2022 Indy 500, she responded-casually-“Yeah, I can do that.”
Although many may not know it, Fisher has been driving the pace car at IMS for years. The celebrity driver takes a lap, then Fisher takes over for the rest of the race. What an honor!! One way to keep her foot in the action’
Fisher set a record for female drivers with nine Indy 500 starts between 2000-10. She will pace the field ahead of the 2022 Indy 500 on May 29. Active since 2000, Fisher feels especially lucky to be able to be on board since 2000.

Don’t miss it!
